Many people make plans to do a lot of reading over the summer. They anticipate the opportunity to hang out with a good book, iced tea in-hand, and relax in their backyard. Or better yet, the beach vacation where you lounge in the sand with a can't-put-it-down thriller and a cooler full of your favorite beverage.
I am lucky to read the daily paper in the summer. With my kids out of school, I rarely get a moment's peace to sit down and really get into a good book. I have one that I started in early June. It's a pretty short book and I am just half-way through it! And it's a good book too! I just can't find the time to sit down and read unless I stay up way into the night and I just can't bring myself to do that. Sleep is too important to me.
I do have books I wish to get to. I just probably won't get to them until this fall, once the bright yellow school bus takes my children away once again (insert devilish grin).
So, here's what I am wishing to read, hopefully sooner rather than later. Post a comment and tell me what you are reading right now or perhaps what is on your reading wish list!
Three Weeks With My Brother by Nicholas Sparks and Micah Sparks
Throw Out 50 Things by Gail Blanke
Bringing Up Girls by Dr. James Dobson
iPod and iTunes for Dummies by Tony Bove
Glass Castles by Jeanette Walls
