Can You Hear Me Now?

My friends and I will oftentimes lament over the "fact" that our husbands never listen to a thing we say.  You'll tell them a story or let them know you have an appointment and need them to watch the kids.  Two days later, they will swear on their life that the conversation never took place.

My husband came across an article once that reported the scientifically proven fact that men's ears cannot hear a woman's voice.  Guess who conducted that "scientific study?"

You guessed it!

I have my own proof now of quite the opposite.  Back in October, Kevin and I went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary.  We had some time before dinner and chose to walk around the shopping district.  This is NOT Kevin's cup of tea, but for our anniversary, he was willing to be caught in...

Crate and Barrel!

I love, love, LOVE Crate and Barrel!

We browsed.  I ooh'd and aah'd various kitchen gadgets and plates and serving dishes.  Then we moved on.

Flash forward to Christmas and a box is delivered in Kevin's name from...

Crate and Barrel.

"Act like you never saw it," he says.  And so I do; truly having no clue what could be inside, but very excited to find out.

Christmas morning finally came and this is what I found, neatly tucked (with environmentally friendly packaging, of course) inside my special box from Crate and Barrel:

According to Kevin, he says that I picked up this beautiful stoneware tortilla warmer and mentioned how much I would love to have it.  So, as he continues on, he made a "mental note" to himself and ordered it for me for a Christmas gift.

Nothin' says lovin' like a warm tortilla from the oven!
Honestly, I don't recall ever seeing the tortilla warmer ever before, much less commenting on how much I wanted it!  But, I won't go so far as to deny the conversation ever took place!  I don't care how the great idea got in his head, I'm just glad I have my new tortilla warmer.
