Let The Madness Begin!

I took a bit of a break from blogging over the last week.  The kids were off from school for the Thanksgiving holiday and Kevin took a few days off of work as well.  It's hard for me to produce clear-minded thoughts when the house is noisy and busy and someone is walking in and out of the office every few minutes.

I took a bit of a break from lots of things.  I will consider that an early Christmas gift to myself.

So, today is Cyber Monday and I have a short list of items I plan to order online today to help me check even more things off my Christmas shopping list.  Owen has school tomorrow and I have blocked off the entire day to do even more shopping.  I'd like to have as much as possible done by the first week of December so I can focus on my home and family more during the weeks that are closer to the holiday.

We'll see if I can accomplish that task.  I usually fall short a bit and the shopping tends to creep deeper and deeper into the month.

My mom told me yesterday about someone we know that left their house on the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day to go shopping and did not return until 7 am the next morning!!!!!!!!!  We both clucked our tongues and passed judgement on how ridiculous that was.  But, to each their own.  If the stores are going to be open on Thanksgiving Day and into the night, then I guess someone might as well be out there shopping and spending money and helping the economy "bounce back!"

I heard on the news this morning (while I was on the treadmill trying to burn off that extra slice of pumpkin pie and the endless nibbling from the weekend), that "Black Friday" produced record-breaking sales.  I'm not sure what records were broken, but it sounds good!

I'll share a few of the great deals I found in my in-box this morning that are good for only today:

At Aveda, you get Free shipping on all orders - no minimum order - PLUS 5 Free samples PLUS any orders over $25 (which isn't hard to do at Aveda) get a FREE organic cotton bag.

At Dick's Sporting Goods, you get 25% off any single item PLUS free shipping.  Nice for anyone that doesn't want to deal with long lines or lives a bit of a distance from a Dick's.

At Life is Good, you get FREE shipping on all orders and FREE shipping on returns if you need to make a return.

Starbucks, ah yes, found on every corner and in every Kroger and Target in my neck of the woods!  You get FREE shipping on any order over $10.  So, if you don't live in my neck of the woods, or you live under a rock, this would be useful to you!

Also, the Groupon deal for today is really good in case you plan to make any New Year's resolutions to get in shape.  Pay $25 for a $50 coupon to use at New Balance stores.  Simply click on the Groupon box on the right side of my blog and it will take you right to the page.

None of these fine retailers paid me any money to list them on my blog.  I just wanted to share some of the deals with you that were in my in-box this morning.  Happy Shopping!

Pssst!  It's okay to order something for yourself!
