Summer Fun Field Trips

Have you ever taken a look at something and wondered, "How'd they do that?"  And then you think a bit about what logically might be the answer or perhaps you have a little background knowledge from either your education, or personal observations in life that might give a deeper answer to the question.

Or maybe you just have no clue.  YouTube is a wonderful place to watch and learn a lot of interesting information.  (It's also a place for your kids to pick up a few choice words you'd rather them not learn.  Just a warning.)

My three kids recently finished up their summer baseball/softball/tball seasons and we found this YouTube video on how baseballs are made to be quite interesting...

Last summer we visited a nearby baseball bat factory, Phoenix Bats, and that was equally interesting.  Especially since they kids got to take home their very own miniature sized bat with their names engraved on them!

Be sure to check out what educational and fun opportunities are near you this summer.  It is possible to learn something and have fun at the same time!
