I had an English professor at Ohio State that had us reading lots of Alfred Lord Tennyson.  Some of it was hard to decipher, and some of it was pretty straight-forward, like the excerpt found above.  I really liked that class.  There were no wrong answers.  We contemplated, we interpreted, we discussed.
